SALTOS DEL MOCONA
Saltos del Moconá, Misiones, sobre el rio Uruguay, frontera con Brasil pero 100 % argentinas, 10 metros de alto promedio. Las unicas cataratas en el mundo que estan a lo LARGO del lecho y no a lo ancho del rio como sucede normalmente...
Estos saltos surgen por una falla geológica que reúne los ríos Yabotí, Pepirí Guazú, Uruguay, Serapio and Callisto.
The Moconá Falls (Moconá means "he who swallows everything" in Guarani) are formed by a kind of canyon three miles long with waterfalls that are parallel to the slope. This is what differentiates from the falls, because the falling water is carried across.
This decrease reaches 25 meters and the entire area is considered Moconá Falls National Park. Within this park is Yabotí Biosphere Reserve, a natural haven for flora and fauna of this forest that receives rains constantly.
A 5 miles from this place-spectacular has been installed a few years ago, a private space that offers all kinds of tourist services with a team of specially equipped guides take you through this adventure.
In the province of Misiones is also the city of Posadas, located on the beautiful Río Paraná. It was founded by the respected San Roque Gonzalez de Santa Cruz, a Jesuit asunceno-and named after the international bridge that unites our country and Paraguay.
